We 1st ran into Lord Huron back in 2011 out here in Los Angeles before the band debuted their critically lauded album Lonesome Dreams (out now on IAMSOUND Records). Back then the band was still in its formative stages (we found out about them because one of the members was working the register at Amoeba Music Hollywood) and native Michigander Ben Schneider had just recently moved out to LA. Schneider self-released an EP that sparked a following and after a trip to SXSW that year Lord Huron was on the fast track to the national scene. Fast-forward to February 2014 when we got to see these boys playing to a sold out crowd at the historic Fillmore, wrapping up their largest headlining tour to date. It’s always invigorating to see the transformation of a band from a local sensation to an international success, and with these guys it’s no surprise. Creating an immersive wave of sound without overwhelming the listener, Lord Huron has as much chops as the lake they derive their name from during a polar blast. Stay tuned to find out about their Spring and Summer plans.
