Charles Bradley @ Echo LA 5-4-11

Charles Bradley was one man who every single person was talking about as the next big thing at SXSW 2011; not too bad for a guy who is 63 years old.  But it seems like Mr. Bradley doesn’t really care about, or maybe doesn’t notice, his age too much. I’m not sure how many other sixty year olds are warming up for a blistering international tour with a week of nightly shows up and down the West Coast. Oh ya he just did “Golden Rule” on Carson Daily today too (his second time on the show in under 2 months)

On Wednesday 5/4 Charles Bradley & The Menahan Street Band bled for us @ The Echo, literally the man was gushing from his left leg by the end of the main set; that didn’t stop him from doing an encore, and then crowd surfing. Included in the set was a cover of the iconic “Heart of Gold” originally by Neil Young, which Bradley just released as a 45 as well.

We’re pretty excited about seeing him again late this summer at Outside Lands 2011 but until then hopefully these pictures will tide everybody over. Thank you to Grimy Goods for working with us on this show.
