Having watched their secret collaboration come to acclaimed fruition, Brian Burton (aka. ‘Danger Mouse’) and The Shins’ lead man James Mercer have announced that their project Broken Bells will be performing at Richard Thompson’s Meltdown Festival in London this June. Curated by Richard Thompson, the festival is billed as a ‘Celebration of Kate McGarrigle’ in memory the late folk singer. The festival will feature McGarrigle’s children Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Anna McGarrigle, Emmylou Harris, Beth Orton, Jenni Muldaur and Linda Ronstadt all performing on stage together to commemorate the beloved folk legend.
