On February 8, 2013, noted Cinema of Transgression (and then some) auteur Beth B, premiered her latest film Exposed at the Berlin Film Festival. An exploration of the subversive world of Burlesque, Exposed follows the lives and works of performers Rose Wood, Julie Atlas Muz, Mat Fraser, Dirty Martini, Bunny Love, Bambi the Mermaid, World Famous *Bob* & Tigger! from ideating cradle to baring it all on stage. Make no mistake, though, this is no one trick T&A show. The artists featured in the film view Burlesque as a serious art form in which they employ nudity and humor as subversive action, tackling the very ideas of beauty, thought and sexuality that so many still consider “normal.”

Beyond the visual show, Exposed boasts a killer score which features two new works by JG Thirwell as well as contributions from Cop Shoot Cop and The John Spencer Blues Explosion (among other Burlesque and Non Burlesque performers). The lion’s share of the music, however, was composed and performed by CSC’s own Jim Coleman whose compositional work out of the New York underground has found it’s way into the works of Todd Phillips, Hal Hartley and Richard Kern as well as on PBS, A&E, HBO and TLC.

What I’m saying is, Exposed is the whole damn package. Sex, rock and revolution. The trailer is below. It can be considered unsafe for most work places.
