There are many days that darken fast and harder than a John Holmes coke implosion but we, as a people, must endure them if we have any hopes of marking a brighter star in the universe than our mothers and fathers, on up, ad infinitum so it helps in those hours to stumble on something that stinks of a naked chance meeting between the corporeal and the intangibly sublime. And so we have Acollective, tonight. Truth be told, I don’t know half of a damn’s worth about them except they’re a septet from Tel Aviv and the clip they just realized for the epic sorrow stance “Happiest of All Memorial Days” (off Pangaea out 7.7 on Alcopop!) is sad, emphatic, strange and totally friggin’ mesmerizing as you can well see below. Rockit.
