Constance McMillen

In Jackson, Miss the Itawamba County school board told 18-year-old Constance McMillen that she was not allowed to bring her girlfriend to the prom, nor could she wear a tuxedo, only a dress. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued the district to force it to allow McMillen to bring her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo. So what did Itawamba Agricultural High School do? They canceled the prom all together!
Well there has been a public outcry and this whole thing turned political extremely quickly. The good news is Constance sounds like shes about to get a prom that beats the hell out of the one we all went to, you know with the on with the paunchy Vice Principle making sure you weren’t drunk when you showed up? Thanks to donations from such notable including Lance Bass (a Mississippi native), Green Day, the American Humanist Association, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Cat Cora a new prom will take place in Tupelo, Mississippi on May 8, 2010.They’re calling it a “Second Chance” prom, and all of the students at Itawamba are invited.
As for the entertainment Hey Champ will be playing, along with the incomparable Questlove. So ya I would say any prom where Questlove plays is a winner.

Good job Constance!
