Monotonix said this was their last tour ever. The guy’s 46 with kids and still performing legendary stage dives and whipping it up at break neck speeds, we’ll all miss the show but I don’t think anyone doesn’t get it.

Ty Segall wins the award for rowdiest crowd of the night as I saw one kid crowd surfed more times than hes had birthdays. My first time seeing this guys and it’s kinda a Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr, Screaming Tress style nod to the early 90s. Play it loud, blast the fog machine, and let the hair hide your eyes. Made me wish I owned more plaid.

Devin Therriault was preforming in his/their first show in LA. Brooklyn style indie rock all the way complete with tight pants and unlaced boots. Surprisingly great (surprising because we all know that it’s harder to really get into something live when you’ve never heard it before). My assumption is the majority of the crowd wasn’t overly familiar with his material but you wouldn’t know it by their reaction. He really brought the room together.

Pinpoint is fanboys of Tijuana Panthers, let’s just get that out in the open; the good news is apparently so is the rest of LA. This is as full as I’ve ever seen the Echoplex at 8:30. You would have sworn the Big Bopper and Buddy Holly just walked on stage with all the hysterical ladies as Daniel machine gunned the crowd with his bass. These guy’s music is so pure you’d have to cut it with baking soda to sell it on the street.
