Broken Social Scene is set to release their first studio album since 2005. During that time Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, band co-founders, both released solo albums featuring members of BSS. The band’s new release was recorded in part at Soma Studios in Chicago, also at Toronto’s Giant Studio and Schvitz Studio.

It has been reported that BSS alumni like Leslie Feist, Jason Collett, Amy Millan (Stars), Emily Haines (Metric), Evan Cranley (Stars), Jimmy Shaw (Metric), Ohad Benchetrit (Do Make Say Think), John Crossingham, Marty Kinack, Leon Kingstone and Julie Penner also appear on the album.
