Listen! to The Hold Steady Return, Surling with “I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You” Listen! to The Hold Steady Return, Surling with “I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You”

unnamedYou know, when I started this crap road through the grueling days of thankless labor I spent my days pulling tiles from a luxury apartment in Brooklyn with an old crow bar and Boys and Girls in America over and over and over again and I swear if it weren’t for that record I would have burned myself to the ground in front on my third day and yeah I know they’ve put out a few records since then so it’s not like they’ve been lost at sea or anything but any chance to share the new work of Craig, Tad and company (Franz who?) seems like a beacon in a life full of fog. So we’re stoked to share their brand new jam, “I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You” (off Teeth Dreams, due 3.25) because “FUCK YEAH, THE HOLD STEADY!” but also because after all those years of Charlemagne and drinking it sounds like the boys are grinding furiously into their age. And that’s awesome. Dig that track and all the band’s upcoming tour dates below (NYC’s already sold out…duh). Rockit.
