Okay, so we’re big fans of the Staggered Laboratories here at Pinpoint even though we’re not entirely sure just what the fuck it is they do or how they’re financed or what their (surely insidious) endgame might be but we do know that for the past several years they’ve been building up a mystery machine called “The Aleator” which works on fractals and magic and ciphers, enigmatic to generate an endlessly shiftable construct of sonic pleasantries or something. Seriously, we don’t get SL worth a damn but we have enjoyed the last few months the shadow men behind the imagination have been running an endless (and endlessly alternating) stream of instrumentation they call “Facets” (see link) and just this evening we received a cryptic text from an unknown number (not all that unusual, honestly) directing us to a SoundCloud account belonging to a Lord Kilowatt that featured a version of SL’s efforts licked, tricked and underscoring the notoriously dastardly emceeing of Dipset. The piece is a remix, of sorts but really its more of a reconstruction in which the loathe and flow of Dipset maintains itself over a beatific beat and charm bellow. It’s good, shot off and confusing as fuck. You can hear it below. Heaven help us.
