Freeball Friday! Sam Hell, You Say? Freeball Friday! Sam Hell, You Say?

They still make music videos, don’t they?

Shugo Tokumaru – “Decorate”

Shugo Tokumaru is a gentle Japanese multi-instrumentalist who works heavily with kiddie instruments, acoustic riddles and the obtuse musings of a dream journal he’d rather not discuss publicly which would typically spell all manner of fizzling neon “Eat a Dick (s)” if his work didn’t speak with such a plain, lithe purity. Also, I don’t speak Japanese.

Moxy Früvous – “King of Spain”

So, when I was in college I was really into this weird half-German goth girl who used to chew her lip ring when she did acid and once talked me into seeing Moxy Früvous which, I’ll woefully admit, wasn’t exactly the worst time but had actually totally slipped my mind until tonight. Yeah. The 90s were kinda weird.

The KLF vs. Extreme Noise Terror – “3 a.m. Eternal (live at the BRIT Awards, 1992)”

To be fair to those of us who tried to learn themselves in the 1990s, shit like this also happened on national awards shows thanks to lunatic subversives who would later burn the million they made playing acid, ambient and/or stadium house under the auspices of a dead art because…FUCK ART, LET’S KILL!

The Cult – “Elemental Light (Salem Remix)”

Twenty years later and subversive remixes look and sound like this. I’m being kind. Nothing about this mix is fucking subversive in the slightest. I’d dare say it verges on polite, pretty even. I sure do like it but what the shit, Ian? You used to be dangerous and sexy. Goddamn, Jack Donoghue.

Shooting at Unarmed Men – “Plug to Bulb”

Fuck you. Fuck me. Fuck Mclusky. Fuck everything.

Mclusky – “Random Celebrity Insult Generator”

Fuck Nick Berry (?!?). This is the best song ever.

Trash Talk – “F.E.B.N.”

Duh, dude. Dive.
