Ed. Note: One day, Charles will hear Dee Dee and Co. peform “Catholicked” live and then his life will be complete or, you know, close enough for the cowgirl his heart aims to please but you and I both know that’s silly. The fuzzbox taunt Charles hearted so hard was five years ago and in that half decade the band has ascended out of the Cap Tracks shoebox and into the maven swing of sultry sirens and, we all concede, that the change in the tenor and motif of the band has been a goddamn blessing because there’s nothing the world needs now so much as surf girls on the Tuff Gnarl Chrissie Hynde pop powder keg. Seriously. This band just keeps getting better and better as the days bleed into the road and Dee Dee embraces the wealth of her throat and just last Sunday, El Jefe happened to catch the last hurrah of the Dum Dum Girls’ latest American sojourn as part of the lunatic endeavor that is the Red Bull Sound Select 30 Days in LA experience, presenting the following evidence with a bloodshot eye and endless grin. Please dig, if you will, his pictures.
